Data vs Leads: What's the Difference and Which Should You Buy?

A lead is someone who has asked about your type of product. Data is a list of people who agreed to hear from companies like yours. Both have a place — but they are priced very differently.

The difference

Leads have shown interest (filled in a quote form, for example) and cost pounds each. Data costs pence per record and needs your team to qualify it — but you get far more people to talk to.

When data wins

  • You have a call centre or BPO with agents who can qualify.
  • You need volume every day.
  • You want control over targeting and cost.

Interest data: the middle ground

Some DataMembership filters capture interest — people who said they want solar or new windows and doors — giving you warmer data at data prices.

Questions

Are your records leads?

No — they are opted-in data records for your team to qualify.
