What Is EPC Data? Using Energy Performance Data for Targeting

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rates a home's energy efficiency and records details such as how it is heated. Matched to consumer records, it is a powerful way to target energy and home improvement campaigns.

What EPC data shows

  • The energy rating (A–G).
  • Main heating and whether the home is on mains gas.
  • Insulation such as loft insulation.
  • Tenure — owner-occupied, private rented or social housing.

How we use it

DataMembership filters such as living status, poor energy rating, off gas grid and needs loft insulation are built on property (EPC) enrichment — so a homeowner list is homeowners.

Questions

Is EPC data accurate?

It reflects the property at the time of its last certificate, so it is a strong guide for targeting rather than a guarantee for every home.
